I don’t believe in miracles but that lady you prayed for is back at work! Months after I had prayed for a lady with cancer we had this report from our translator on what God been doing in Husinec.
Husinec is a beautiful Czech town, not much more than a village, in the rolling Czech countryside south of Prague. That rolling countryside develops into the foothills of the mighty Alps.
Olga, our translator, a kind and loving lady as you would ever want to meet, was an atheist but she was willing to use her language skills to help me and our mutual friend in the church. She had stood next to me and translated my message that God loves to heal minds, bringing his peace to our turmoil, forgiving our sin and restoring our relationship with God our heavenly father, and our bodies as he touches them with his healing power.
I finished my message with a request that any that needed healing in any way should come forward for prayer. At this point Olga sat down and left me with nine people kneeling the alter rail asking for prayer. But what should I pray for? God the all knowing one answered my feeble faith and the meeting closed with that mixture tears and joy that is a hallmark of His grace and power at work.
I heard later that God had brought three people for each of the three areas of healing, body, mind and spirit. He wanted to demonstrate by signs and wonders that He wants to bring Glory to His name and increase faith in Jesus.
One lady had cancer beyond cure and was unable to work. It was when Olga saw her back at work in the ‘supermarket’ that she realised that a miracle had happened and she wrote to tell us the good news.
In a later letter she wrote that this same lady had broken her arm, possibly weakened by the cancer. The following year we were asked to pray for her again because the arm would not heal. This time the minister joined us in praying for her and then for others in the community. Again Olga wrote to us. “I don’t believe in miracles but… I saw her walking down the road with a shopping bag in each hand. God had mended her broken arm.
Sadly the following year she died. She had been given two extra and better years, had gone to her heavenly father full of faith, and the church had received a demonstration by God of His healing, transforming, power in many lives.
