Quaker Delish
Ingredients

Two cups (8-10 fl. Oz.) |
Oats |
|
1 cup |
Flour (Brown or white) |
|
½ cup |
Sugar |
|
2 oz (50 grams) |
Lard |
|
8 oz (200 grams) |
Stoned dates. |
|
2 teaspoonfuls |
Baking Powder |
Method
Mix all the dry ingredients except the dates.
Melt the fat and add to the above.
Simmer the dates in ½ cup water for a few minutes.
Spread half the oat mixture in a tin and cover with the dates.
Put the rest of the oat mixture on top.
Bake in a moderate oven for 20-30 minutes.
Cut into squares when it has cooled.
Remove from tin when cold.
